Our Story
Our Story -
Welcome to our garden, where beauty takes root.
We’re a husband-and-wife team living in Orangevale, California, where for years we’ve enjoyed tending to our family orchard. Gordon is an architect and Valori works in school finance. After 40 years of marriage, we have four beautiful adult daughters and four grandchildren that keep our lives filled with joy.
Our journey with flowers began a little later in life, after being inspired by our oldest daughter who founded The Paisley Flower Farm in Red Bluff, California to plant our very first dahlias in 2023, and we’ve been hooked ever since.
Cozy Blooms was born from two things we hold close: the unmatched beauty and diversity of dahlias, and our sweet Bernedoodle, Cozy. She reminds us daily that life is best lived with excitement, much like gardening itself.
Why Dahlias?
Dahlias are endlessly inspiring. Their colors, forms, and textures seem almost too beautiful to be real. We were drawn in by how each variety has its own personality – some delicate and ruffled, others bold and sculptural. As growers, dahlias keep us learning and adapting, while offering daily joy and wonder in return.
Cozy Blooms is also home to beehives. We grow and care for everything with our pollinators in mind, making our garden a haven - not just for blooms but for our bees, who love them too. We aim to make our homemade honey available in the fall of 2025.
Why Tubers?
Tubers are where the magic starts. There’s something incredible about planting what looks like a small potato and watch it transform into a healthy plant full of gorgeous blooms. Sharing tubers allows us to pass along not just flowers, but potential. Whether you have a backyard plot or just a few pots on a patio, tubers make beauty accessible to every home and garden.
We believe in the strength and creativity of the growing American flower farming community. There’s a quiet joy in cultivating something with your hands and sharing it with others. As we grow Cozy Blooms, our goal is to offer not just fresh bouquets and high-quality tubers, but encouragement, connection and to help others fall in love with gardening, just as we have.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just beginning your journey, we’re so glad you’re here. Let’s grow something beautiful together.
